The flights were uneventful on nice new planes (Airbus and Dreamliner) with good service and I was able to sleep most of the way. It all began to feel like a vacation.
Landed at 9am in Lisbon to a great sunny day. Long wait at passport control but an uneventful Uber ride to the hotel. We made it!
On a side note, I am currently reading this book (Emptiness Dancing) that I can now safely label as a life-changing book. It is one of those books that, after readying the work of other great thinkers over the last few years, manages to deliver philosophy/life/perspectives in a direct-to-the-soul manner, clearly and succinctly.
Every page requires days to digest. It covers many of the ideas and concepts that I have read, and tried to process, over the years with a unique clarity that itself drives focus and concentration. Very strange.
“I am everything, and I am absolutely nothing. What am I when I do disappear?. Truth is what you are without your story or script, right now. What you are is prior to your idea of you."
Somehow I feel this trip will be different from many others. I feel that the collection of new experiences it will generate will be seen and lived through a different lens ... a more focused and clear lens.
What am I when I disappear?
No jet bridges in Lisbon?
A big long line at passport control
Yes, we made it!
